The WISE Annual Summit is a testament to our commitment to fostering excellence and diversity in the fields of conservation and ecotourism. It’s a time when our current members rekindle friendships, exchange ideas, and pave the way for new members to embark on their journey with WISE.
Held against the backdrop of Africa’s stunning natural beauty, our summits take place during the enchanting summer months. We gather within the heart of one of South Africa’s iconic game reserves, where the spirit of the wild surrounds us. As the sun dips below the horizon, we’re reminded of the incredible world we’re dedicated to preserving.
The weekend kicks off on a Friday afternoon, as WISE women from various corners of the continent converge on our chosen destination. The atmosphere is filled with anticipation and camaraderie, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience.
Throughout the summit, our schedule is brimming with engaging discussions, workshops, and collaborative sessions. We delve into topics that matter most to women in the industry—building each other up, igniting interest for budding professionals, and bolstering skills development. We share stories of triumph and challenges, forging a path towards equality and empowerment.
Our inaugural summit in November 2022 marked a pivotal moment in the WISE journey. Eighteen remarkable women joined forces, laying the foundation for an organisation dedicated to driving positive change. This tradition of growth continues as each established member is encouraged to nominate and introduce one new member every year. It’s a ripple effect of empowerment, extending our reach and impact to every corner of Africa.
