For Membership of Women in Safari Excellence

The Women in Safari Excellence (WISE) is dedicated to fostering a community that upholds the highest standards of professionalism, respect, and collaboration. Membership in WISE is a privilege that comes with responsibilities. By joining WISE, you agree to adhere to the following guidelines

1. Respect for Diversity
WISE celebrates diversity in race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, age, religion, and ability. Members are expected to treat everyone with respect, inclusivity, and equity, avoiding all forms of discrimination, harassment, or bias.

2. Professionalism
Members represent WISE in their professional interactions and are expected to:
Adhere to ethical business practices.
Maintain punctuality and reliability.
Respect confidentiality and trust in all professional dealings.

3. Personal and Ethical Conduct
Members are required to act in ways that reflect positively on WISE and the broader safari and conservation community. This includes:
Avoiding criminal behavior, violence, substance abuse, or any illegal activities.
Promoting integrity, fairness, and honesty in all actions.

4. Communication
Members must engage in respectful, professional, and constructive communication at all times. This includes:
Avoiding offensive, abusive, or harmful language or behaviour.
Embracing open dialogue while respecting differing perspectives.

5. Environmental Responsibility
WISE is committed to environmental stewardship. Members are expected to:
Promote and practice environmentally sustainable behaviours in their personal and professional lives.
Support and advocate for conservation efforts in their communities.
Minimize waste and encourage eco-friendly practices during WISE activities and events.

6. Social Responsibility
As leaders in the safari and tourism industry, WISE members should:
Actively contribute to local communities and initiatives that support education, health, and well-being.
Advocate for fair labor practices and empowerment, particularly for women and underrepresented groups.

7. Conflict Resolution
WISE encourages open, respectful communication to resolve conflicts. Members should:
Address concerns directly with the individuals involved whenever possible.
Seek mediation or assistance from WISE leadership if conflicts cannot be resolved independently.

8. Continuous Professional Development
WISE fosters a culture of growth and learning. Members are encouraged to:
Pursue ongoing education through training, workshops, and conferences.
Share knowledge and mentorship opportunities within the WISE community.

9. Compliance with Laws and Ethical Standards
Members are required to comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards. This includes:
Operating with transparency and accountability.
Avoiding actions that may cause harm to individuals, wildlife, or the environment.

10. Confidentiality
Members may have access to sensitive information. They must:
Protect the confidentiality of all proprietary and personal information.
Avoid sharing such information with unauthorized parties.

11. Compliance with the Code of Conduct
Membership in WISE requires strict adherence to this Code of Conduct. Violations may result in disciplinary actions, including warnings, suspension, or termination of membership.
